Recently a member of our rose society called me and invited me to come to his rose garden and discuss a problem that he was having with black spot, the most common fungus affecting roses in Indiana. As a consulting rosarian, I was most happy to oblige. I thought my discovery was interesting and worthy of writing an article for the newsletter.

August will not have a regular meeting. Have you noticed fewer beetles in your roses this summer? We have been offered an opportunity from Richard Baerman of Ohio to purchase a case of RESPONSE at a reduced price. The American Rose Society is attempting to recruit new members by offering a four month free membership in the ARS. We also have been offered an opportunity to dig some roses from “Ashwood”, the Simon property.
