Horticulture Challenge Classes

CLASS 1 Glendale Mall Challenge

Three (3) hybrid teas or grandifloras. One bloom per stem, exhibition stage, all different varieties, each exhibited in separate containers and tagged individually. Eligible for Special Merit Certificate. Mark & Cathy Nolen Dublin, Hot Princess, & Moonstone

CLASS 2 Cycle of Bloom Challenge

Three (3) hybrid tea specimens, all the same variety. One bud (sepals down, petals beginning to unfurl), one exhibition stage, and one fully open (stamens must be showing), exhibited in separate containers. Eligible for Special Merit Certificate.

CLASS 3 Show Chairman's Challenge

CLASS 4 Rose Bowl Challenge

One (1) hybrid tea or grandiflora bloom at exhibition stage, floating in a clear glass bowl. Bowl will be provided by Show Committee to the extent available. Exhibitor may provide bowl, if desired. Use of rose foliage or colored water is not permitted. Eligible for ARS Certificate.

CLASS 5 English Box Challenge

Six (6) hybrid tea or grandiflora blooms at exhibition form, any combination of cultivars. Foliage is not permitted. Box will be provided by Show Committee to the extent available. Exhibitor may provide box, but must be approved by the Show Chairman prior to use. Eligible for ARS Certificate.

CLASS 6 Artist Palette Challenge

CLASS 7 Framed Hybrid Tea Challenge

CLASS 8 Tin Can Collection Challenge

At least eight (8) but not more than twelve (12)specimens any combination of cultivars (except miniatures and mini-floras) exhibited in a tin can. No more than three of any one variety. Tin cans will be provided by the show committee to the extent available. Oasis permitted. Eligible for Special Merit Certificate. Three (3) one bloom per stem miniatures or mini-flora roses of the same variety, one bud (petals beginning to unfurl), one exhibition stage, and one fully open (stamens must be showing), exhibited in separate containers. Eligible for Special Merit Certificate.

Class 15 Judge's Challenge

One (1) bloom per stem or one (1) spray of any type of rose. Open only to judges of this show. Each judge may enter up to three specimens. The specimens will be judged individually rather than as a collection. Eligible for ARS Certificate. Howard Carman Solar Flair
